THE VIOLIN MAKER
I was born in a small town near Arezzo on 21/06/1985, since my early childhood I have cultivated a passion for musicand wood carving, but in the first phase of my life my heart had not yet known the art of violin making.
In fact, my thirst for knowledge initially led me to study other subjects.
After long training and professional path, as often happens, the "randomness" of life made me enter, for the first time, in a workshop of a local violin maker, the one who would then be my first master. Well, it was love at first sight. At that moment I realized that would be one of my way, a true passion.
I followed dozens of violin makers studying with all my resources, and taking advantage of the study method that I had refined over time.
As I often say: “my strong point is that I first learned to study and then to be a violin maker”. This made my learning process faster and more effective.
I lerned from the best Italian violin makers, first for the construction of the guitars and then for the string instruments (violins, violas and cellos). It was for stringed instruments that i discovered this overwhelming love that guided me on a long journey to discover the art of Cremonese and Tuscan violin making.
Currently I am involved in the design and construction of violins, violas and cellos inspired by the greats of the past (Stradivari, Guarneri, Guadagnini, Santo Serafin).
Thanks to the meticulous study, my instruments were been appreciated from the beginning for their warm and intense sounds, and in 2022 i won the second place at the international violin making competition of Pisogne (Italy)
For my instruments I use only seasoned wood, chosen with care, paying particular attention to the acoustic properties.
The wood is Balkan maple for the back, sides and neck. While for the table it is spruce from Val di Fiemme.
I am currently engaged in research and experimentation on oil colors in an attempt to emulate the classic colors of eighteenth-century violins.
"My satisfaction is to see that wood come to life and express, together its partner, their Soul, which is olso a little bit mine..."
